Fengshui and Clocks

Knowing the time and adjusting the pace accordingly is part of our everyday routine. The following some fengshui tips of how to display a clock in your space

Clock and Bedroom

Avoid displaying a big clock in your bedroom. Keep the clock as far as possible away from you while you sleep as bedrooms are places for relaxation. If you really need a clock, my suggestion to you is to have a small alarm clock in your room. Remember keep the alarm clock at least 3 feet from your bed.

Clock and Dining Room

For the same reason, keep the clock out of the dining room. If you need a relaxed and good conversation during your meals, a clock will just emphasis the time ticking by and may bring tension and stress to you and family members.

Clock and your House Entrance

Never display the clock at the entrance or the east area of your house. In Mandarin we pronounce clock as “zhong” which has the same pronunciation another Chinese word “zhong” which has the meaning of the end. A home or the east direction should be a place for hopes.

Good Rooms for Clocks

Clocks were a prefect idea for movement and energy, for this reason it is best to place them in the areas with a lot of activity, such as:
.the living room
.the kitchen or
.home office.

Having a clock in these spaces is actually good for Fengshui, because it helps us understand the notion and the passing of time.

Remove Broken Clocks

Finally never keep your broken clocks at home. Anything broken things in your house is bad for Fengshui !

Fengshui for Your Aquarium

In Fengshui and for the Chinese traditions, the fish is a symbolic creature which represents abundance and wealth. Having fishes in the living room is a good way of helping abundance and provisions to be always present in the house. The following is a few points that we should take note when having an aquarium in our home.

. Keeping a clean aquarium with fishes brings wealth when placed correctly in the wealth sectors of your home. If your fishes live in an aquarium which has murky or green water, they will look tired and that is extremely bad to the Fengshui of your home.

. Choose bright and energetic fishes as your pets, so that you can stimulate positive energy from them

. From a Fengshui perspective, numbers take significance from the way numbers “sound” in Chinese have symbolic connotations. Generally for keeping fish, I suggest that a good numbers of fish are 3, 6, 8 and 9. Try a combination of 8 gold ones and 1 black one; you can feel the positive energy from your pets at no time. Gold will attract the good luck and the bad luck will be taken by the black fish.

. The ancient founding father of Fengshui Kuo Po believes “Chi is dispersed by the wind and gathers by the boundaries of water”. Water has this ability to allow Chi to collect and settle. That is why I always recommend my readers, beside to position their aquarium or pond in wealth sectors, they too can locate it to the section of the house where good Chi resides.

· The surroundings or external environment also play an important role in determining if you should have any water in that sector. Avoid having water at the areas where negative structures are emitting bad energies or "sha chi”.

· Finally never place an aquarium in your bedroom, or in your kitchen, as this may brings unwanted Fengshui energies to these two areas.

Pets and Fengshui

1. NEVER ALLOWS PETS ON YOUR’S FURNITURE unless this furniture specifically for them or this will results them on equal footing with its owner.

2. ANIMALS SHOULD NOT BE ON THE BED, particularly for married couples. The animals will divides the couple and gets in the way of romance. My suggestion to this is don’t allow your pets from coming into to your bedroom. If you choose to allow has pets in your room, never allow them to sleep on the bed.

3. TOILET TRAINS YOUR PETS. Please remember, let’s pet to enhance your home but not dominate it. If your doggy litter box is the first thing you see or smell when you enter your home, it is a problem .The chi in your house will be affected. As a Fengshui master, I always notice the occupant (s) with such problem is usually struggling.

4. KEEP YOUR PETS HEALTHY. The animals will generate positive energy in your home, when it is in good health and happiness.

5. YOUR PET FEEDING PLATES SHOULD BE PRETTY AND COLORFUL. This can create an especially happy pet eating area. Pets eating area should also be a protected space -- a corner out of the path of humans

6. CLEANLINESS IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF FENGSHUI. Pets should feel safe, secure and clean in the areas where they eat or sleep before they can generate positive chi for you.

Myths about Fengshui

Just like many other subjects, Fengshui ranges from mere common sense to certain aspects that might stretch even the greatest fan's credulity. As a Fengshui practitioner, we have to weed out the myths and superstition. It is important to understand the subject and always refer back to the key concepts that make sense to us.

Myth#1

Has any master ever tell you, your house need have the five basic elements– fire, earth, metal, water, and wood; if your space miss certain Fengshui element’s , it is consider to has a bad Fengshui. To extend, you may miss something in life due to that. This is supposing that you’re not planning to remodel or do any new construction. If you are, you can plan it all in advance and perhaps not even need all of these five. A good Fengshui Master is able to incorporate the correction without anybody noticing, but the benefits will affect the occupants subtly and efficiently.

Myth#2

Does a mirror attract good energy and reflect away bad luck? The answer from me is “No”; mirrors aren’t that smart to know which energy you’d like to attract and which you’d like to reject. This myth comes from the old days when mirrors were solid heavy pieces of polished metal (usually copper). Back in those days the Fengshui Master place a mirror as a correction not due to it’s the reflectivity but rather the metal element of the mirror. Obviously, many Fengshui Masters nowadays wouldn’t know this.

Myth#3
Many Fengshui lovers believe that Fengshui is a magical formula to make ones rich, healthy and popular. But in actual fact, Fengshui can only help you to harness the positive energies in your environment. To create wealth, health and relationship still lays on your effort.

Myth#4

Has you ever wonder, is it truth we need to look for certain direction or good Fengshui place before we buy a house? My answer to this is simple, the Fengshui of most places are simply mixed and affects people differently depending on their birth dates. You can rarely find any place or location on earth, that really good or bad Fengshui.

Myth#5

Many Fengshui lovers believe that leaving the toilet seat up will flush away your money. Obviously, leaving the toilet seat up will not physically flush away your wealth. But if every time you leave the bathroom you return back later to double check the toilet seat, you are actually entering the realms of superstition and worry. Worry is a mental process that actually stops the flow of energy. Trust me - if an idea frightens you or causes concern - then it is obviously not being presented properly.

Myth#6

Many readers love to ask this question, it is true that we need to believe in Fengshui for it to work? My answer is “No”. Having positive thinking is always a good thing but it is not important in Fengshui. Fengshui works even if you don't believe it will.

Fengshui wisdom offers a variety of cures to improve your love life. Fengshui practitioners believe that the best way to attract love is to adjust your environment accordingly. The following is some tips of how Fengshui can nourish your love life in an ancient way.

2.By placing a Chinese painting of Peony flowers in the living room, you will help your daughters find ideal suitors.

3. Light up the Southwest direction of bedrooms with red lights, this will enhance the chances of the singles in your house to find love soon.

4.Use Citrine, Amethyst or Rose quartz crystals for activating your romance luck. Place or arrange them either in the Southwest corner of your bedroom or your “Tao Hua” (Romance) position.

5.Avoid keeping dried flowers in your house. Only fresh flowers generate good energy to your love life!

8.Scents, candles, romantic paintings and soft furnishings are ideal for this spot because they will help you attract love into your life.

9.Keep your bed away from the wall; by pushing your bed against the wall may crowds out any chance for your life partner from entering to your life.

The Relationship between Fengshui and the Main Door of your house

1)The toilets of our house should not face the main door.

2)Keep our main door clutter-free (both from inside as well as from outside) as good energy enters through the main door. Keep this place clean.

3)Your Furniture should not hinder the easy opening of the main door.

4)Do not hang any mirror facing the main door as it reflects back the good energy.

5)The Fengshui of the house will be affected if an elevator is located opposite your main door. Place a convex mirror above the door outside the apartment to deflect the negative influence, this helps to eliminate its adverse effects

6)Choose the color of the main door according to the direction in which door is facing.

Lightings and Fengshui

Perfect lighting layout and good quality air are the very basics of good Fengshui. Lightings help to enhance the chi energy in a house. Therefore it should always be on top of our Fengshui priorities for any space. Some of my suggestions on using of lightings were as follows;
.Soften sharp corners of a room using accent lighting. This not only increases the energy (Chi) flow but also help to create a relaxed atmosphere.
.Do not place a chair under the Chandeliers. In fact it is unsafe for any person to sit directly below a hanging object.
.Instead of using one bright light in a room, use two or more softer lights to create a warm general glow and positive room energy.
.Create a yang environment for your living room. The yang quality is embodied by the activity and brightness, which are ideal for a family or entertaining. We too can place a red lamp shades in a living room bring fame!
.Use lights are to transform dark corners or to illuminate heavy beams; this can lessen their negative chi effect.
Having insufficient lighting in your home is considered bad Fengshui as it will create an impact on our health and well-being. Good lightings not only enhance the Fengshui of your house but also helps to keep your normal bodily rhythms in synchronicity.

Gerbera Daisy

Like I said earlier, there is an important and positive connection between Fengshui and plants. Type, color and placement of a plant play a vital role in the Fengshui of your home or office space. Having plants in at your home not only physically sustains life, but symbolically narrow down the gap between us and the Mother Nature.

One of my suggestions for plants to Fengshui is Gerbera Daisy. This is because the plant comes in a wide variety of colors, such as red, ivory, yellow, magenta, orange, pink, and coral. As a Fengshui master, I can easily match this plant to difference Fengshui directions need.

I always suggest to my readers that they can plant red or yellow Gerbera Daisy at both side of the main door (regardless of Fengshui directions); the plants can help to bring you good luck and good fortune to your home.

Beside improving the Fengshui of your house , plants also help to cleanse your space naturally. Experiments have proven that certain plants help to purify toxins and pollutants from its surroundings. They are an amazing natural healing remedy for allergies that are caused by pollutants and toxins.

Camellias

As most of us live in a HDB unit, therefore we can only have containerized plants’ for our Fengshui. Small shrubs, such a camellias and junipers are good choice of plants that look great in containers.

Plant dark purple or blue Camellias in the north direction, it can help you to boost yours’ career. In Fenshui, NORTH corner governs career prospects. This direction represents the water element, thus it is the ideal place to put a fountain or pool. We too can add fish to it and double our luck.

Peace Lily

Plants have their special flow of chi energy and create a fresher atmosphere and help to compensate for the dead materials found in the home, such as plastic and synthetic substances. Place plants by electrical appliances to counteract the detrimental chi energy given off by the appliance.

In Fengshui, we believe that Peace Lily have the capability of “calming” and harmonizing the energy of the house. Their pointed leaf generates more yang and help to move chi energy more quickly; this is why the plant are able to deals with the energetic legacy of discord and strife that has occurred within the walls of the house in the past, which has left an energetic imprint. Peace Lily balances and releases this “battle energy”, bringing a sense of peace and harmony.

Peace Lily not only improves Fengshui aspects of your home and office reduces the levels of EMFs.

Lucky Bamboo

Dracaena or Lucky Bamboo is tough and resilient which does not require much of the direct sun light and can even grow in the place like bathroom where sun light is unable to reach.
